Our Mission
Our mission is to encourage and support the delivery of projects and initiatives that improve our community and the visitor experience, enhance services and build a proud and positive identity for our town and its surrounding area. Through an independent, enduring and objective presence we plan to foster constructive relationships and enable collaborative, effective development. At the heart of MCDT is a philosophy that maintains focus on outcomes and the quality and integrity of the journey towards them. Investments are sought and managed on a basis that if it’s not right for our town, it’s not right for us.
The Minehead Climate Adaptation Plan (launched in January 2025) was put together with support from Somerset Wildlife Trust and through close consultation with the local community. The aim of the plan is to act as a tool to help us tackle the climate challenges facing Minehead! From flooding to heatwaves, the Act to Adapt plan brings together local ideas and solutions to protect our town, wildlife, and wellbeing.
