ManoAmano Circo Brings International Circus Magic to Blenheim Gardens

Over 450 people gathered in Blenheim Gardens on Sunday for a spectacular afternoon of circus performance, as international company ManoAmano Circo brought their show, Kinematos, to Minehead. With warm weather, plenty of shade, and an incredible turnout, it was the perfect way to build excitement in the run-up to the Minehead Bay Festival on 29th August, now celebrating its fifth year.

ManoAmano Circo hail from Mar del Plata, in the southernmost reaches of Argentina, and have toured their work across the world. Their performances are built on acrobatics of extraordinary precision, taking the skill and discipline of floor-based acrobatics and transferring it into the air, where the impossible starts to feel within reach.

At the heart of their show is a simple, tender idea: their characters know they cannot fly, and they know they never will, but they keep trying anyway. Everyday situations and relationships are played out mid-air, told through movement rather than words, mixing vertigo, comedy and gentle, mischievous humour. The result is a style of circus that feels both technically dazzling and deeply human.

The visit to Blenheim Gardens was made possible thanks to the support of National Lottery players and TakeArt, whose backing helps bring international touring work like this to communities across Somerset.
