Minehead and Coast Development Trust is a not-for-profit registered charity (Charity number: 1144443). While we have a small team of two part-time members of staff, our trustees and directors work as unpaid volunteers. Any income or donations that are generated by our projects are invested back into the community and charity.

MCDT run a range of projects and initiatives that bring the community together. We work with the local authorities to provide opportunities for all in the community. We regularly attend meetings of the Minehead People and Place Partnership to advocate for the people and place of Minehead, working to bring investment and funding into the area, and supporting other community groups and organisations with their positive initiatives. One of our projects, the Minehead Bay Festival, brings over 5000 people together every year to enjoy free art and music on Minehead’s beautiful seafront.

MCDT is a registered charity working for the benefit of Minehead and the wider coastal region. Our purpose is to deliver projects that improve our region as a place to live, work and visit. We currently have four trustees and three part-time members of staff. While the charity is currently supported by grant funding from the National Lottery Community Fund, we want our work to continue beyond that grant period. Grant funding is increasingly hard to secure which makes charities like ours rely on support from our community.

We understand that not everyone can donate, and that’s okay. But if you do feel you can support our work financially, even £5 makes a difference and will help to ensure our projects can continue for years to come.

Absolutely! The charity is aided by an amazing team of volunteers and we couldn’t do it without them.
